The centre of Ludlow was blacked out for several hours from about 4pm on Tuesday after a power cut hit the town
Jonathan Smith, for e.on Power apologised to customers.
He said : “The cut started at 4.07pm, initially affecting 2,258 customers.
We got the vast majority of those back on by switching them onto different circuits within a couple of hours.
“The final customer was returned to power at 05.16am on Wednesday.
We’d obviously like to apologise to all those affected. “It was an underground cable fault which has now been fixed.”
