The after-effects of last summer’s floods continue. This time it’s a village inn that lost its records and is now having to appeal for local knowledge.
Alison Williams, joint owner and manager of the Travellers’ Rest Inn at Affcot, near Craven Arms, would like any information on the history of The Travellers’ – either recent, or ancient.
“We spent most of last year carrying out our extensive refurbishment and, at the same time, overcoming constant flooding in our cellar, due to the bad weather,” said Alison.
“This year, we have at last got back on our feet.
“We were just about to launch our new website but when we came to add all our history from our file that we had been collecting, we realised it had been lost in the floods. We were devastated.”
Alison added: “The regulars have been great and they have requested some history for the bar, either information we can put in our brochure, or website, or ideally old photos on the walls.”
Anyone who has any history details, with dates, information, documents or ideally photos, they can email them to Travellers@dinewithus.co.uk or call Alison Williams on 01694 781275.
