Members of Ludlow Boxing Club are doing a triathlon at the end of this month to raise funds for the club and for children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent.
Eight members of the club will swim 400m, cycle 27km and run 7km on September 28.
PC Tony Sewell, who helps run the boxing club, said: “We’ve got no target. We just want to raise what we can to help young children and their families.”
PC Sewell said he was inspired to start fundraising for CLIC Sargent after reading cyclist Lance Armstrong’s autobiography about his own struggle with cancer.
In the book, Armstrong observed that children with cancer always seem much more confident of beating the disease than adults.
CLIC Sargent provides advice and support for children with cancer and their families, to help them through each step of living with cancer.
If anyone would like to sponsor the boxing club, they can get in touch with Tony Sewell on 07947 806052.
