Tomorrow, Saturday February 21, sees the first of a kind . . . pancake racing in the town centre.
Ludlow Food Festival has teamed up with Cittaslow and St Lawrence’s Church to provide a morning of fun up on the square.
Cittaslow will be cooking with the kids, making and flipping pancakes and there will also be pancakes to be bought and eaten on the spot.
The race itself will be between members of Ludlow Young Voices and the choir of St Lawrence’s Church.
Organiser Beth Heath added: “The event begins with a bit of a sing-song and then the race will be down to the church and back through the castle with flipping and obstacles along the route when participants will be judged.
“The winner will win family tickets to the Ludlow Food Festival which will be a great chance to enjoy yet more delicious food!
“Also new is the chance for restaurants and food outlets to compete to find the best pancake in Shropshire. The competition has two categories, best sweet and best savoury pancake.
“The winner will get the kudos of winning and tickets to the Spring Event in May where they can enjoy a day of beer, bangers and bread!”
