Fly the flag for Wales

Patriotic drivers in Wales will now be allowed to display the red dragon on their car number plates. A law change means motorists can have national flags beside their registration numbers.

Changes to the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001 mean the Union Flag, Cross of St George and Scottish Saltire are also approved.

Welsh Secretary Paul Murphy said: “The Government has delivered a long-standing commitment to allow the Welsh dragon on to number plates. I hope the red dragon will now become a familiar sight across Wales.”
