Manager Stuart Corns knows all about the threat posed by their hosts, with the defending champions unbeaten at home this season with six wins and one draw.
“I played for them a couple of times last season so I know what to expect,” he said.
“They are a decent side and it is going to be a tough game of football but we need a good result after losing in the last minute at Ellesmere. We were a bit down after the game. When you’ve put in a good shift it makes it even worse to come away with nothing.
“A draw would have been a fair result, but we can take positives from the way we played against Ellesmere who are the team to beat this season.”
After the defeat to the league leaders, Corns will be stepping up his hunt to bring in a couple of new signings to add greater experience to the squad.
Last week’s encounter had been heading for a goalless deadlock before Ludlow were downed in the last minute as Eddie Hope steered his shot into the far right corner of the net.
Chances were few and far between at both ends, with Corns feeling the hosts were fortunate not to concede a penalty for a high kick on striker Nathan Hodge in the second half, which could also have seen a second booking for the defender involved.
Ludlow started strongly, with Hodge heading over from a Dale Williams cross while Matty Elsmore saw an 18-yard strike well saved by keeper Andy Mulliner.
Both sides were well organised at the back, with Ludlow keeper Anthony Prince again in solid form.
Ludlow almost went ahead five minutes before the break when the unmarked Lewis Ayres fired wide, while after the interval Elsmore’s 20-yard strike was superbly saved by Mulliner. *See this week’s South Shropshire Journal for pictures
