Retired farmer Glyn Mills has much to thank the Wales Air Ambulance for after his son Andrew and grandson Richard were both airlifted to hospital following separate accidents in Mid Wales.
So when Glyn, of Great House Villa, Llanyre, celebrated his 70th birthday with a party at the village hall in Newbridge-on-Wye recently, he invited family and friends to make a donation to the service instead of buying gift. The result was a whopping £800!
The birthday party was organised by Glyn’s wife Phyllis and daughters Carol Davies and Dawn Rowland.

PICTURE: Glyn is pictured presenting the cheque to paramedic Karen Davies, who was herself involved in the accident with Glyn’s grandson Richard. Also in the photograph is Rachael Beech, fundraising coordinator for South Powys.
