“What can we do to help these people without homes?” This was the question posed by six-year-old Molly Tyler of Abbeycwmhir to her teacher at Crossgates Primary School. Molly was referring to the thousands of people affected by the earthquake disaster in Haiti a month ago.
As a result of her question the school decided to organise a sponsored walk of four times around the school playing fields, equal in length to about a mile.
All the pupils participated and the event was started by Molly as she was the one who asked the question.
It is hoped the school will soon be able to send a few hundred pounds as their contribution to the appeal fund – all because of little Molly’s question to her teacher.
