JAMES Pratt netted five times to lead a goal blitz as a young Ludlow North side swamped Telford Kingpins 11-3 in the Mercian Shropshire Summer Hockey League.
Ludlow had led just 4-3 at the break, before producing a stunning second half display to emerge emphatic winners with Graeme Wilcox and Tim Machin also netting twice, while Jake Watts and Andrew Richards were the other contributors.
However, Ludlow South suffered a 3-1 loss to Kidderminster in the Mercian Worcester League as they paid the price for a poor first half display.
Trailing by three goals at the break, they had a mountain to climb, but upped their game in the second period as they carved several good chances although only able to score once through Carl Everton.
The previous week, Ludlow South went down 4-2 to Evesham despite a superb first half show.
An outstanding display in the first period with some fine attacking play was rewarded with a Joe Richards goal, but the team also wasted too many opportunities.
And with the Ludlow side unable to keep up their intensity, Evesham gradually worked their way back into the game after the interval.
Stuart Richards scored from a penalty corner but several other efforts were narrowly missed or brilliantly saved and Evesham could count themselves fortunate to run out winners by a two-goal margin.
Meanwhile, Ludlow North went down 3-0 to Old Wulfrunians.
After an evenly fought first half, the south Shropshire side were unfortunate to concede three second half goals.
