One of the oldest shows in Radnorshire was a great success in its 74th year, despite some quite heavy showers.
Pantydwr Annual Show took place on Saturday at the Parish Hall and Pencraig Field. It was officially opened by show presidents Mr and Mrs Cemlyn and Mary Davies.
Treasurer Wendy Davies said despite pouring rain and heavy showers at times, the weather was warm and large crowds attended the event.

“It poured when we were trying to get the sheep in the ring but then it came out lovely and it was warm, but we had more rain later on.
“We got through the sports in the wet but there were lots of people there and I thought it was a good show.
“There was something going on all the time and people have said to me they thought it was a good show.
“There were some very big entries in the pony classes and there were some great entries in the sheep classes and in the hall.
“Last year a lot of people were harvesting but they have either done it already this year or it is too wet to do it, so there was a very good turnout.”
Events on the showground included horse, sheep and dog classes, children’s sports, a baby and dress show, sheep shearing, horse jumping and a gymkhana, K Nine Kapers and a grand raffle.

There was also a six-a-side football tournament, children’s sports events and other attractions included Jim the Ferret, a bouncy castle and face painting.
Meanwhile, in the parish hall there was produce, craft, cookery and children’s competitions.
