MANAGER Mike Seaborne admits Ludlow Town have yet to hit top gear following a mixed start to the County League premier division campaign.
The SBS Stadium men started with all guns blazing in a 14-1 romp against Dawley Villa, then went down 3-1 at FC Hodnet the following week before drawing 1-1 at home to highly-rated Haughmond last Friday.
“We started off well last week, but in the end we were grateful for a point,” said boss Seaborne. “We scored a lot of goals in pre-season but we’re not quite firing on all cylinders at the moment.”
Seaborne, however, is confident his side can find their feet as they head to Morda tomorrow as they bid to stay among the early front runners.
The point against early pacesetters Haughmond was hard earned, particularly after having Nathan Hodge sent off for two bookings in the second half while also losing Gaz Hamer with a dislocated shoulder.
Danny Gower had given Ludlow an early lead when heading in a Gary Mowen cross, but the visitors were back on terms soon after the interval.
Meanwhile, Seaborne was heartened by the support against Haughmond, and is hopeful that more games could be staged on Friday nights at the SBS Stadium.
