FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD Hamish Baillie has been crowned Burway Tennis Club’s junior champion after coming out on top in an evenly contested tournament.
The weather stayed fine and all entrants, aged from 11 to 14, vied for honours in a tough competition.
Making it to the final were Mark Bull (11) and Baillie and, after two difficult sets, it was the latter who became Burway junior champion for 2010.
All entrants played extremely well and the club’s junior organiser Nicola Read said: “I am really proud of all the juniors.
“They have all put in 100 per cent effort and have played some really good tennis. It has been a pleasure to watch.”
