Site Accessibility

The South Shropshire Journals website

The new SouthShropshireJournals.com has been redesigned to be more compatible with modern browsers and with disability learning software.

Screenreader software is predominantly used by internet users with disabilities. Software used by blind or visually impaired users can read the site back, opening up a whole world of information that would otherwise be inaccessible. To this end, this new star site has been designed to be more compatible with these specialist pieces of software - without a loss of quality on standard internet browsers - and without having to have a separate version.

Global site navigation has been broken down into smaller, easier to manage sections with these being:

  • News
  • Sport
  • Features
  • Jobs
  • Motors
  • Property
  • Classifieds

Each of these section has an index page, which lists the sections within that particular area. A prime example of this is the Features section that now incorporates a large majority of the site content.

Compatibility Issues

At SouthShropshireJournals.com we strive to bring our users the best News, Sport and Features from around the county, as well as the opportunity to book newspaper advertisements, purchase subscriptions to various Shropshire Newspaper titles and order T-Shirts, Mugs, Coasters, Posters and prints of pictures that have appeared in the newspaper - all online.

To do this we employ modern technologies that help deliver this content to you - the SouthShropshireJournals.com user. These technologies can sometimes be incompatible with older, outdated browsers.

To this end, we encourage all users to upgrade their browsers regularly to ensure that their surfing of this site (and others on the Internet) is as good and clean as possible.
